Common Art Week 13 Team 6


 For this week my team worked on populating more proxies and getting lighting and some base vfx working. Personally I cleaned up the slideshow, edited the narrative and dialogue to be more concise, and tested more with designing the tentacles animation and movement. Did more slide editing, arranging, and approving or denying proxies.

Common Art team 6 Week 12

 For this week we started to build our proxy environment for our VR project.


This week I worked on building a potential spline rig for animating the tentacles in the scene. I also tested our VR environment and made sure the teleporting mechanic worked as intended.

The slides i worked on were Technical Considerations, Animation, Story, and Game Pillars. 





We worked with Chris Roda to rework our original plan and created a hyper condensed story and idea instead:

The Player starts in a black screen as it fades in to view, the Player hears Mission Control explaining the situation: Search the Red church, eliminate any biohazardous entities, investigate possible links to Sarkicism. 

You spawn in at the inside of the front doors of the church. 

The priest is situated on the altar beckoning you to come closer, asking you to complete the ritual. Command says to do it. 

The ritual entails placing a basket of beets on the altar and lighting it on fire. Then lighting the candles surrounding it. Upon doing the ritual the priest lights an incense and smoke arises and clouds your vision. 

You hear a voice in your head sounding vaguely similar to command asking you to remove your mask, the player lifts their controllers to their head to do so even though you know you shouldn’t.

After doing so the doors open to the church allowing the light in, the priest lights the incense again and the smoke fills your vision again, when it clears you look down and see the floor has become fleshy, you are given the option to leave or stay. 

Your character is starting to cough and wheeze. If you stay, the priest laughs and lights the incense again welcoming you to the family. The smoke arises and covers the screen again and when it clears your vision is red, breathing heavy and if you look down your arms are now covered in fleshy growths.

 Command tells you to leave but a voice distorted sounding like command tells you to stay, you are given the option to leave again. If you stay, the smoke fills the view again and your breathing becomes monstrous and the world seems to be smaller, your hands are tentacles and the screen goes black. If you leave the screen fades to black and you hear command telling the Maz Hatters to eliminate the anomaly leaving the church.

Common Art Team 6 Art Style Guide Presentation

 For this week we started creating our own style guide for our experience using found imagery and photobashing.


I did the bulk of the editing and formatting of the powerpoint, as well as the Animation, Technical Considerations, and Special Considerations slide.
